I am arranging/composing a series of 50 miniatures for
concert
band.
Each miniature will be grade 4-5
(some will be closer to
3.5 or 5.5).
Each miniature will be
between 45 seconds and 3
minutes duration.
Each miniature will either be an arrangement of a piece that I
originally wrote for a different instrumentation or it will be composed
specifically for this project.
I expect for there to be somewhere between
70 and 100 total minutes of
music.
I've been thinking that you can mix and match them, do miniatures in
between longer works, use them as an opener or closer on a concert
(or on either side of intermission), use the ones that are 2+ minutes
as standalone works, or even use them as sight reading or as a way to
build up
a new/challenging piece with limited time. I will include a list of
combinations that I expect to work together well, but I think that you
will
end up finding several other interesting ways to combine them that I
hadn't thought of.
The buy-in for this
consortium is $400
and consortium members will
receive:
